On SOR Acceleration of Generalized Modified Hermitian and Skew-Hermitian Splitting Iteration Method

Abstract

We generalize the modified Hermitian and skew-Hermitian splitting (MHSS) iteration method for solving large sparse non-Hermitian positive definite system of linear equations, obtain the generalized MHSS (GMHSS) iteration method. By the fixed-point equations we propose a successive overrelaxation (SOR) acceleration for the GMHSS iteration method and prove its convergence. Numerical examples show that the SOR strategy can accelerate the convergence rate of the GMHSS iteration method.
